Soloist-Mandolin "Classico"
The charming sound of a good old Calace-Mandolin inspired me to design a modern mandolin with similar tonal characteristics: the “Classico.” Because of the strong fundamental frequency of each tone, this mandolin differentiates clearly and distinctive even when played very fast. The bass is full and rich and the trebles clear and bright. The special bracing system of the top, the free ending of the fret board, and the careful tuning of the various parts to each other give the instrument a good dynamic response, superior tonal transparency and excellent balance from string to string.
The soundboard is made of exquisite German spruce and the body can be made either in rosewood or curly maple with contrasting purflings. The slotted headstock and the armrest are made from beautifully figured woods. The ebony fingerboard has 24 frets. Tuning machines and tailpiece are gold-plated.
