Solist-Mandolin "Roma"

I have built the “Roma” after the construction principles and sound concepts of an Embergher-Mandolin. The sound of this model is rich in overtones, which makes the bass end round and warm and the high end clear and bright with a certain mellow sweetness. The carefully tuned soundboard and braces give this instrument great openness, remarkable sustain and a very good balance from string to string - a surprisingly strong sound. It allows many levels of expression and has an unequalled warm sound. Thus the “Roma” combines the modern mandolin shape with the Italian romantic sound ideal.

The soundboard is made of exquisite German spruce and has an oval soundhole with mother-of-pearl inlays. The body can be made either in rosewood or curly maple with contrasting purflings. The slotted headstock is in the shape of the old Embergher Mandolins with inlays of mother-of-pearl. The armrest is made from Rosewood. The ebony fingerboard has 24 frets. Tuning machines and tailpiece are nickel-plated or gold-plated.
